The following are events that are traditionally held at the Preschool each year, make sure to look at the Parent Handbook for specific dates and times:

Drop-In Day

Parents and children are invited by the Preschool Board to drop in briefly to meet teachers and classmates and tour the classrooms.

Icebreaker

A social function without the children held on an evening to welcome and meet fellow parents, and celebrate the new school year.

Preschool Sunday Bake Sale

After the 10 a.m. church service, a sale consisting of baked items provided by Preschool parents. This event is hosted by the Preschool Board.

Open House-Picnic Supper

Families of children who attend Plymouth Preschool are invited by the Preschool Board to bring a picnic dinner in October to enjoy the Preschool grounds. Parents tour the classroom to view the children’s art, projects and learning materials. Be sure not to miss this fun opportunity to acquaint yourself with your child’s teacher and classmates.

Book Fair

A great way to fuel a child’s love of reading is the Book Fair. Held in the Fall, the fair runs for several days and is open to all Preschool families and friends. A percentage of the proceeds are returned to the Preschool.

Pumpkin Patch

To emphasize our fall theme, children are given the opportunity to play in a pumpkin patch provided by the Preschool Board.

Halloween Parade

On a special day during the week preceding Halloween, children may wear a costume to school for a parade through the campus, after which the classes gather to sing Halloween songs. Parents and cameras are invited.

 

 

Thanksgiving Sharing

On the Friday before Thanksgiving, classes assemble on the quadrangle in the spirit of the first Thanksgiving. Each class brings packaged food to be shared in the community. The music teacher leads the children in songs of thanks.

Holiday Bazaar

This takes place in December and the school promotes local vendors, many of whom are Plymouth Parents, with a creative flair in clothing,jewelry, children clothing and accessories. This is a fundraiser for the Preschool Board and gets everyone in the holiday spirit!

The Littlest Angels’ Christmas Party

This event hosted by the Preschool Board features activities suitable for preschool age children but will be enjoyed by all. This event includes a Christmas program held in the Sanctuary, followed by dinner and activities. It’s a great way to share your Christmas spirit with the staff as well as having your family enjoy a very festive holiday event.

Hanukkah/Kwanza

We frequently have parents who wish to share the meaning of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights, or Kwanza, a cultural celebration of African ancestry. Parents who wish to share other celebrations as well are always welcome.

Springfest/Silent Auction

Each year the Preschool Board plans a celebration in March. It is a fun-filled carnival including refreshments, pony rides, entertainment and games. The Annual Silent Auction is held during Springfest in Davis Hall.
